School Tours

There have been many fun days in the school but the biggest fun day of all is probably the school tours so here’s where everybody is going or went:

1st classes are going to Newbridge Farm.

2nd classes went toTaytoPark. (check out the photos in the front hall)

3rd classes are going to Oldbridge house.

4th classes are going to a bbq and fun day.

5th classes are going to Fantasia Water park.

6th classes are going to theTransportMuseum.

And that sounds like another successful bunch of school tours.

Reading Week 9th – 13th

Book Reading Week

This week was reading week. Every day the bell rang ten minutes early before break and we had a chance to ‘drop everything and read’.

Earlier in the week the infants had a special visitor. Ricky Gerrard came in to read stories to us. We loved listening and joining in.  Have a look at the photos.

It was a brilliant week.

Book Swap

On the 12th of May there was a book swap. All books were put into the Infants corridor. There were all sorts of books. People from all classes who brought in a book got a book token to get a new book from the book swap. We got to do this because it was reading week from the 9th to the 13th of April. Ms Murphy planned a busy week for us. Mateusz from 4th class said “It was great fun. Most people got very good books.”

Intercultural and Anti-racism Week 2011

Thank you to all the boys and teachers for their hard work this year. :)

To promote and celebrate our multi-cultural school population the theme of this years event was ‘Different Places, Different Faces’.

Different Places, Different Faces

Every pupil in the school made a mask which we have displayed along the corridor. A group of 12 boys from many different countries were lucky enough to work with local artist Declan Kelly to make a huge painting which has also been displayed in the hallway.

Mairead Mc Guinness MEP visit

Mairead Mc Guinness came to visit us today. She spoke to the senior students in the hall and met the Student Council.

During the last term Mairead McGuinness M.E.P. came to our school. She is a member of the European Parliment. She represents Ireland East in the European

Parliment. It was organised by the Student Council and Mr.Kelly.

  • Firstly, she was welcomed by Mark and Brian in the staffroom.
  • After little lunch she met the Student Council and she went into the hall and I held a questions and answers session.
  • Then she answered the Student Council’s questions in the staffroom and she gave us boardgames for our classes.

I would like to thank everyone for their brilliant behaviour on the day. She wrote a letter to the student council saying thank you for the warm welcome and that she was impressed with the Student Council and its achievements.

Games R Us

I think everybody remembers the bake sale on 17th of December. Well If you don’t we raised 1038.70e. With the money we raised we bought lots of new games. Our old games were not in the best condition and had missing pieces etc. The money was well spent buying new games such as: Family Fun Games, Pictiureka, Jenga, Frustration.

All the games have been fairly distributed. We hope you ENJOY!!!!!
